Membership to PAAPL

PAAPL is a collaborative, interprofessional alliance of advanced practice provider leaders across Pennsylvania. Membership is open to individuals who share our commitment to advancing the role of APPs through education, advocacy, and leadership development.  Membership in PAAPL does require sponsorship by a current member.

Who Can Become a Member?

PAAPL membership is open to individuals who meet the following criteria:

        • Hold licensure as a nurse practitioner (NP), physician associate/assistant (PA), certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA), or certified nurse midwife (CNM) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
        • Serve in a leadership role or aspire to leadership within an organization, health system, academic institution, or community-based setting
        • Demonstrate an interest in advancing interprofessional collaboration, healthcare policy, and the future of advanced practice

Membership is inclusive of both clinical and administrative leaders. Individuals from all regions of the state and all sectors of practice are encouraged to apply.

Member Benefits

As a PAAPL member, you’ll be part of a growing statewide alliance committed to elevating advanced practice. Benefits include:

        • Access to timely policy updates and legislative briefings relevant to APPs in Pennsylvania
        • Opportunities to participate in standing committees focused on advocacy, education, membership, and governance
        • Participation in PAAPL’s general membership meetings, networking events, and leadership forums is expected.
        • Inclusion in a collaborative peer network of APP leaders across health systems and disciplines
        • Priority access to educational programming, resource development, and speaking opportunities
        • The ability to shape statewide policy positions and contribute to a unified voice for advanced practice

Liaison Members

In addition to general membership, PAAPL invites liaison members from professional organizations, academic institutions, and stakeholder groups whose missions align with ours.

Liaison members are nominated by their home organization to serve as a point of connection and communication between entities. They:

        • Participate in general membership meetings
        • Receive PAAPL communications and policy updates
        • Represent their organization’s voice in shared discussions
        • Facilitate collaborative efforts across systems, disciplines, and regions

Liaison members are critical to PAAPL’s goal of maintaining an interprofessional, statewide presence, and their involvement enhances our ability to influence and respond to healthcare policy as a unified front.
