Our Non-Profit Status
The Pennsylvania Alliance of Advanced Practice Leaders (PAAPL) is recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is exempt from federal income tax. More specifically, the IRS has designated PAAPL as a 509(a)(2) public charity, a classification that falls under the broader 501(c)(3) umbrella.
What This Means:
- PAAPL retains all the privileges and benefits of a 501(c)(3), including eligibility to receive tax-deductible donations.
- The 509(a)(2) classification simply reflects the nature of our income—meaning we expect to generate support primarily through programmatic activities, such as educational conferences, leadership training, and membership dues, rather than through investments or government grants.
- This designation aligns with our mission to educate, support, and elevate advanced practice leaders across Pennsylvania.
Our nonprofit status reinforces PAAPL’s commitment to serving the public good and advancing the practice of advanced practitioners across the Commonwealth through education, policy, and collaboration.
